Escritura.

«Hablar de mi dramaturgia me resulta... Complicado.

«I find talking about my style of playwriting... Complicated. How does one talk about a skill that is still being honed? In other words, I write as I go along. Some of the texts that I write I like more than others. I seek. I experiment. I test. I play. What I enjoy most is allowing myself to be carried away by the story and the characters, without knowing what is going to happen, allowing myself to be surprised by the outcomes. I’m sure that the majority of my texts share common traits, but that’s not because I employ a particular style or technique. I have worked on several occasions as a playwright, I have written on request, and also for my own company. But when writing original pieces that I write because I feel like writing or because something is pushing me - almost viscerally - to writing, I wouldn’t know how to categorise them, which trends they belong to or from which dramatic springs they drink. However, I am sure of the topics that unsettle me, and I usually deal with these ones in my work. One of my obsessions is the theatre of memory. Another, family bonds. For me, at the end of the day, theatre is a mechanism that allows me to better understand the things which I am passionate about, to transfer situations (even virtual situations) to both paper and stage, which may, in some way, pose questions to myself.» (Esther Lázaro).
