Biografía. / Biography.

Cristina García Marcos (Sico) es guionista, autora y editora. Licenciada en Sociología y diplomada en Guion de Cine y TV, ha desarrollado su carrera principalmente en narrativa y guion, especializándose en animación, desarrollo de proyectos, redacción y ghostwriting. Aunque su trayectoria profesional no se ha centrado exclusivamente en la dramaturgia, siempre ha mostrado un interés constante por el lenguaje escénico, lo que la llevó a cursar el monográfico "Escrituras para la escena" en la Escuela de Letras de Madrid, impartido por Blanca Suñén. Gracias a su experiencia en guion, desarrolla un estilo narrativo dinámico y versátil, que traslada también a sus textos teatrales combinando ritmo, construcción de personajes y humor. Desde 2020 impulsa sus propios proyectos literarios a través de Velocismo editorial, con total libertad creativa y un enfoque narrativo neurodivergente. Su obra ha sido reconocida con el XXII Premio de la Crítica de Asturias en Literatura Infantil por el cuarto título de la colección Pilgrís.

Cristina García Marcos (Sico) is a screenwriter, author and editor. With a degree in Sociology and a diploma in Film and TV Screenwriting, she has developed her career mainly in narrative and screenwriting, specializing in animation, project development, editorial work and ghostwriting. Although her professional path has not focused exclusively on playwriting, she has always maintained a strong interest in the theatrical language, which led her to complete the course “Writing for the Stage” at the Escuela de Letras in Madrid, taught by Blanca Suñén. Drawing on her experience in screenwriting, she has developed a dynamic and versatile narrative style that she also brings to her theatre texts, combining rhythm, character building and humor. Since 2020 she has been developing her own literary projects through Velocismo Editorial, with full creative freedom and a neurodivergent narrative approach. Her work has been recognized with the XXII Asturias Critics’ Award for Children’s Literature for the fourth title in the Pilgrís series.

«Me interesa reflejar la frustración existencial del hombre moderno y la banalidad del mundo postmoderno, un mundo obsesionado con la constante necesidad de ser “alguien”, por la hiperproductividad que aplasta el silencio y la necesidad de escuchar los ritmos de la naturaleza. Bajo el yugo de la positividad como herramienta facilitadora de dicha hiperproductividad mediante herramientas como el coaching y la autoayuda. La era del “branding personal” y del exhibicionismo emocional e íntimo impulsado a lo bestia por el desarrollo descontrolado de la tecnología y las redes sociales, y que lo que genera es un sinsentido contemporáneo y una profunda incomunicación. Mediante el teatro del absurdo, con su lectura contemporánea y su comicidad irónica y melancólica, pretendo al menos mostrar el tedio y tratar de desarticular en la medida de lo posible ciertas lógicas dominantes.» (Sico).

«I am interested in reflecting the existential frustration of the modern man and the banality of the postmodern world—a world obsessed with the constant need to “be someone,” driven by a hyperproductivity that crushes silence and the need to listen to the rhythms of nature. All this unfolds under the yoke of positivity as a tool that fuels such hyperproductivity, reinforced by mechanisms like coaching and self-help. We live in the era of “personal branding” and of emotional and intimate exhibitionism, amplified to the extreme by the unchecked rise of technology and social media, generating a contemporary sense of meaninglessness and a profound inability to communicate. Through the theatre of the absurd, in its contemporary reading and with its ironic, melancholic humor, I aim to at least expose this tedium and attempt, as far as possible, to dismantle certain dominant logics.» (Sico).
