Poeta y dramaturgo, Néstor Villazón ha publicado casi una veintena de textos y ha obtenido más de una decena de premios y menciones a nivel nacional e internacional, entre los que destacan los certámenes "Lázaro Carreter", "Lanau Escénica" y "Asturias Joven", así como las becas Dramaturgias Actuales del INAEM y la propia de El Pavón Teatro Kamikaze. Traducido al griego, al inglés y al italiano, sus textos han participado en eventos como el Día Mundial del Teatro, el Festival de Teatro Español, el Salón Internacional del Libro Teatral, la Muestra Internacional de Teatro Universitario, el ciclo “Las funciones por hacer” (El Pavón Teatro Kamikaze) y el “Maratón de monólogos” (Círculo de Bellas Artes), y los festivales Essencia (Sala Cuarta Pared) y Con Testo, este último en colaboración con el Instituto Cervantes. Fuera de nuestras fronteras, ha estrenado en Corfú, Serres, Atenas y Milán. Ha colaborado como reseñista y crítico en radio, televisión y prensa escrita. Es licenciado en Filología Hispánica y trabaja como docente, mantuvo una columna semanal en el diario 'La Nueva España' y ha impartido conferencias y talleres para la UNED, la ESAD de Asturias y la escuela universitaria TAI.

Poet and playwright, Néstor Villazón has published nearly twenty works and has received more than a dozen national and international awards and mentions, including the "Lázaro Carreter," "Lanau Escénica," and "Asturias Joven" competitions, as well as the Dramaturgias Actuales grants from INAEM and one from El Pavón Teatro Kamikaze. Translated into Greek, English, and Italian, his texts have participated in events such as World Theatre Day, the Spanish Theatre Festival, the International Theatre Book Fair, the International University Theatre Showcase, the cycle “Las funciones por hacer” (El Pavón Teatro Kamikaze), and the “Marathon of Monologues” (Círculo de Bellas Artes), as well as the Essencia (Sala Cuarta Pared) and Con Testo festivals, the latter in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes. Abroad, his works have premiered in Corfu, Serres, Athens, and Milan. He has contributed as a reviewer and critic in radio, television, and print media. He holds a degree in Hispanic Philology, works as a teacher, maintained a weekly column in the newspaper La Nueva España, and has given lectures and workshops for UNED, the ESAD of Asturias, and the TAI University School.

Escritura. / Style.

Tres son los estilos que definen las piezas de Néstor Villazón: el teatro realista, el poético y la farsa. Sobre todos ellos domina o complementa el absurdo (con Beckett como figura principal), si bien autores como Bernard-Marie Koltés, Wajdi Mouawad, Juan Mayorga o Angélica Liddell suelen estar en la base de sus creaciones. Parte de la memoria histórica para el análisis del hombre común, su cotidianidad, con un lenguaje accesible y directo. Destaca la versatilidad en sus textos, buscando que cada obra sea diferente de la anterior, explorando nuevas formas y nuevos temas, tanto en la comedia como en el drama.

Three different styles define the works of Néstor Villazón: realistic theatre, poetry and farce. All of them are dominated or supplemented by the absurd (with Beckett as the main figure); although authors such as Bernard-Marie Koltés, Wajdi Mouawad, Juan Mayorga and Angélica Liddell often form the basis of his creations. He uses historical memory to analyse the common human and his/her day-to-day life, using a direct and accessible language. Versatility shines through in his texts, striving for each piece to be different from the last, exploring new forms and topics through comedy and drama.
