Pablo Rosal estudió Humanidades en la Universitat Pompeu Fabra y Dirección Escénica en el Institut del Teatre de Barcelona con maestros como Muntsa Alcañiz, José Sanchis Sinisterra o Víctor Molina, así como muchos cursos de payaso en el Timbal o con Eric de Bont. Su formación se autoabastecía con decenas de probaturas escénicas con grandes amigos como Ferran Dordal o Xavier Martínez. No hace distingos entre escribir, actuar y dirigir. Ya desde joven empezó a escribir textos teatrales y poéticos, pero la Vida y la Fortuna le pedían Paciencia. Ha sido profesor de Secundaria de literatura durante 7 años en una escuela de Barcelona, formó parte de la Agrupación Señor Serrano como actor y coescribió, coprodujo e interpretó una película intitulada "Un trabajo y una película", que estuvo en importantes certámenes internacionales, entre muchas cosas. Hacia el 2018 probó suerte trasladándose a Madrid, donde todo lo labrado ha podido por fin encontrar un cauce, sobre todo gracias a la complicidad del Teatro del Barrio y el Teatro de la Abadía, y la sala Beckett en Barcelona. Desde el 2020 ha podido estrenar 5 espectáculos, se dedica a la formación y está de gira a menudo. Se siente muy agradecido.

Pablo Rosal studied Humanities at Pompeu Fabra University and Stage Direction at the Institut del Teatre of Barcelona with teachers such as Muntsa Alcañiz, José Sanchis Sinisterra and Víctor Molina, as well as numerous clowning courses at El Timbal and with Eric de Bont. His training was further nourished by dozens of stage experiments with close collaborators and friends such as Ferran Dordal and Xavier Martínez. He makes no distinction between writing, acting and directing. From a young age he began writing theatrical and poetic texts, though Life and Fortune demanded Patience. He worked for seven years as a secondary-school literature teacher in a school in Barcelona, was a member of Agrupación Señor Serrano as an actor, and co-wrote, co-produced and performed in the film Un trabajo y una película, which was shown at major international festivals, among many other projects. Around 2018 he moved to Madrid, where his work has finally found a clear path, largely thanks to the support of Teatro del Barrio and Teatro de la Abadía, as well as Sala Beckett in Barcelona. Since 2020 he has premiered five productions, is dedicated to teaching, and tours frequently. He feels deeply grateful.

Escritura. / Style.

«Creo en la misión del escribir, siento su urgencia, me mueve su necesidad. No es obvio vivir ni es sencillo ser alguien y cargar con una historia propia. El mundo está demasiado presente y es ensordecedora su literalidad. Dispersos los contornos y los horizontes, se reproduce brutalmente el siglo XXI deslavazando y desatendiendo cualquier acción con sentido. Nos reunimos aquí, en el cariñoso encuentro del escribir para celebrar conjuntamente la soledad y el espacio íntimo, la irrenunciable pulsión de ver lo eterno en la realidad. De trazar un gesto con sentido. La escritura es un hecho en la vida, transforma en el acto el mundo y prefigura, cual sortilegio, los escenarios en que vivimos. Debemos alimentar y cuidar lo que escribimos. Esa es la ética irrenunciable. Suelo visitar géneros y códigos según convenga, aunque dos ejes organizan mis bajos fondos, a saber, la pulsión humorística deudora de Beckett, Ionesco, Mihura, Gómez de la Serna, Azcona y demás, y la pulsión poética/espiritual, que bebe de Zambrano, Bachelard, Juarroz y tanto más. Cada vez tardo más en escribir textos, por el placer que obtengo en el estudio.» (Pablo Rosal).

«I believe in the mission of writing; I feel its urgency and I am driven by its necessity. Living is not obvious, nor is it simple to be someone and to carry one’s own story. The world is overly present, and its literalness is deafening. With contours and horizons blurred, the twenty-first century reproduces itself brutally, dismantling and neglecting any action with meaning. We gather here, in the affectionate encounter of writing, to jointly celebrate solitude and the intimate space, the inalienable impulse to glimpse the eternal within reality, to trace a gesture endowed with meaning. Writing is an event in life: in the act itself it transforms the world and prefigures, like a spell, the scenarios in which we live. We must nurture and care for what we write; that is the inalienable ethic. I tend to move between genres and codes as needed, although two axes organise my underworlds: the humorous impulse indebted to Beckett, Ionesco, Mihura, Gómez de la Serna, Azcona and others, and the poetic/spiritual impulse, which draws from Zambrano, Bachelard, Juarroz and many more.
