Biografía. / Biography.

Como le ocurrió a algún cantante famoso que no es necesario citar, una lesión lo apartó del deporte, y en 2005 empezó a formarme como actor con Esther Mayo, continuando en la E.M.T. Ribarroja del Turia. Su estreno en el escenario fue con un monólogo escrito por él mismo; y ahí empezó todo. A la formación actoral pronto le acompañó la formación en dramaturgia, iniciándose en esta con Paco Zarzoso, y continuando con diversos talleres y una buena dosis de autodidactismo; escuchando, viendo y leyendo todo lo que tenga que ver con la dramaturgia. En 2014, junto con otros compañeros, crearon una compañía de teatro amateur con la que representaron sus primeros textos: “Volando con un par” (2016) y “Peces desorientados” (2018); ganando premios con ambas obras, y dando sus primeros pasos en el ámbito profesional. Como actor también ha representado obras como “La huella” de Anthony Shaffer, o “La llegada de los bárbaros” de José Luis Alonso de Santos; y en la actualidad, compagina la escritura con la interpretación, tanto en el mundo audiovisual como en el teatro.

Like a certain famous singer we don’t need to name, an injury forced him to leave sports behind, and in 2005 he began training as an actor with Esther Mayo, later continuing at the E.M.T. Ribarroja del Turia. His stage debut came with a monologue he wrote himself—and that’s where it all began. Acting training soon led to playwriting, starting with Paco Zarzoso and continuing through various workshops and a healthy dose of self-teaching: listening, watching, and reading everything related to dramaturgy. In 2014, along with fellow artists, he founded an amateur theatre company where he staged his first plays: Volando con un par (2016) and Peces desorientados (2018), both award-winning productions that marked his first steps into the professional world. As an actor, he has also performed in plays such as Sleuth by Anthony Shaffer and La llegada de los bárbaros by José Luis Alonso de Santos. Today, he combines writing and acting across both theatre and audiovisual projects.

Escritura. / Style.

«Mi escritura nace de la necesidad de reflexionar, de entender mejor al mundo, y a mí mismo, aunque no siempre me lleve a una conclusión. Sin proponérmelo, la incertidumbre, el cambio, el sentido de la vida, son temas comunes en lo que escribo, con la presencia, en mayor o menor grado, del humor. Unas obras nacen pensando en un tema concreto, otras por impulso, otras como un juego; y cada una crece siguiendo su propio proceso. No puedo imaginar mi vida sin la escritura. Sentirme humano, vivo, aprendiendo constantemente de lo que me rodea, de mi gente, de la vida. Y qué bonito es pensar, que puedo contribuir a remover consciencias, provocar emociones, reflexiones; aportar algo a alguien, como tantas obras y tantos autores me han aportado a mí.» (Enrique Galán).

«My writing is born from a need to reflect, to better understand the world—and myself—even if it doesn’t always lead to a conclusion. Without intending it, uncertainty, change, and the meaning of life are recurring themes in what I write, often with a touch of humor, to varying degrees. Some plays begin with a clear topic in mind, others come from impulse, or as a game; and each one grows in its own way. I can’t imagine my life without writing. It’s how I feel human, alive, constantly learning from what surrounds me, from my people, from life. And how beautiful it is to think that I might contribute to stirring consciences, provoking emotions and reflection—to offering something to someone, just as so many plays and authors have given so much to me.» (Enrique Galán).
