Sinopsis. / Synopsis.
Tras el intento fallido de invocar las fuerzas sobrenaturales en un patio de butacas, una joven con ansias esotéricas, consigue parar el tiempo y abrir, por error, una brecha en la realidad, dejando escapar la absurda consciencia del equipo y los espectadores. Resultado: ‘Magia potagia’.
After a failed attempt to summon supernatural forces in the middle of an audience, a young woman with esoteric longings manages to stop time and accidentally opens a rift in reality, unleashing the absurd consciousness of the crew and the spectators. The result? Magia potagia.

Pogüerful es una comedia dramática teatral (multidisciplinar) con tintes absurdos y surrealistas, cuyos temas principales son el potencial humano, la forma de vida occidental contemporánea y la magia. Es un proyecto de investigación basado en el rito y el mito con la intención de crear una simbología propia que se dirija hacia la creación de nuevos lenguajes de entendimiento. Es en esencia meta-realidad teatral (teatro dentro del teatro) con estructura cero, es decir, el tiempo en el que transcurre la obra corresponde a los instantes de espera previos al comienzo de dicho espectáculo. Pogüerful es un espejo distorsionado del mundo en el que vivimos, hilado por el viaje de una joven que desea iniciarse en el mundo de la magia y que cae, sin saberlo, en el seno de una simpática y diabólica familia de chamanes.
Pogüerful is a dramatic comedy for the stage (multidisciplinary), tinged with absurdity and surrealism. Its main themes are human potential, contemporary Western lifestyles, and magic. It is a research-based project rooted in ritual and myth, aiming to build its own symbolic system as a path toward new languages of understanding. At its core, it is theatrical meta-reality (theatre within theatre) with a zero structure—meaning the play unfolds in the moments of waiting before the show is about to begin. Pogüerful is a distorted mirror of the world we live in, woven through the journey of a young woman eager to explore the world of magic, who unknowingly falls into the hands of a charmingly diabolical family of shamans.

Biografía. / Biography.
Bibiana Monje es directora, autora, cantante y actriz canaria, licenciada en Interpretación Textual por la RESAD de Madrid, “The Michael Chekhov Acting” (MICHA), Actor’s Studio TVI en Nueva York y en Pantheatre-Francia. Ha escrito y dirigido obras teatrales como “El principito al desnudo”, “Lisístrata” de Aristófanes, “La Cantante Calva” de Ionesco, “Los Ciegos” de Maeterlick, entre otras. En 2015 crea Impulso, una compañía multidisciplinar cuya base motora es precisamente el origen del impulso creativo, el crecimiento personal y la conciencia colectiva a través de la investigación escénica. Entre sus proyectos destaca "Puenting", un largometraje creado y dirigido por Bibiana Monje y coproducido con Volcano Films; "Lacura", obra ganadora de tres Premios Réplica de Artes Escénicas de Canarias 2017 y "Pogüerful'', su última producción teatral (2019).
Bibiana Monje is a director, writer, singer and actress from the Canary Islands. She holds a degree in Textual Interpretation from RESAD in Madrid and has trained at The Michael Chekhov Acting (MICHA), Actor’s Studio TVI in New York, and Pantheatre in France. She has written and directed plays such as El principito al desnudo, Lisístrata by Aristophanes, La Cantante Calva by Ionesco, and Los Ciegos by Maeterlinck, among others. In 2015, she founded Impulso, a multidisciplinary company driven by the origin of creative impulse, personal growth, and collective awareness through stage research. Her most notable projects include Puenting, a feature film written and directed by Bibiana Monje and co-produced with Volcano Films; Lacura, winner of three Réplica Awards for the Performing Arts of the Canary Islands in 2017; and Pogüerful, her latest stage production (2019).
Escritura. / Style.
«Consciente de que cada una se inventa su sueño, en el mío, la expresión artística me ha escogido a mí, y no al revés, para reflejar los mundos que me habitan y así convertirme en mi propio espejo. Siento pasión por el aparente caos psicológico, el amor al impulso, la luz, lo profundo, la risa como arma de construcción masiva, lo humano, el poder de la fe, el disparate y la (des)mitificación de los cuentos que me han contado. Creo en las dramaturgias escénicas por encima de las palabras. Mis textos, a veces irónicos, miran de frente al espejo de la ilusión del crecimiento personal y la conciencia colectiva, utilizando la investigación escénica/cinematográfica como motor para completarse. Inventar, descodificar procesos internos, descolocar y reírse del propio drama son el leitmotiv de mi obra.» (Bibiana Monje).
«Conscious of the fact that the dreams are created by the mind of individuals, in my case, artistic expression chose me - not the other way round - to reflect the worlds that inhabit me, becoming a mirror to myself. I feel passionate about the apparent psychological chaos; love for the impulsive; the light; the deep; laughter as a weapon of mass destruction; the human; the power of faith; the madness and the (dis)mythification of the tales that have been told to me. I believe in dramatic performances more than words. My texts - some of which are ironic - stare directly into the mirror of the illusion of personal growth and collective conscience, using scenic/cinematographic investigation as a motor for self-fulfilment. Inventing, decoding internal processes, removing oneself and laughing at the drama itself are the leitmotiv of my piece.» (Bibiana Monje).
