Sinopsis. / Synopsis.

Una maestra es acusada de adoctrinamiento después de haber elegido una canción supuestamente polémica para el Festival de Primavera que se celebra cada año en su escuela. Lo que a primera vista podría parecer un problema pasajero, se acaba convirtiendo en un auténtico terremoto que sacudirá a todos los miembros de la comunidad educativa. ¿Hasta qué punto las exigencias de una minoría pueden llegar a condicionar las decisiones de todo un centro educativo? Primavera de bèsties es un drama social inspirado en hechos reales que pone el dedo en la llaga de las manipulaciones ideológicas, los conflictos de intereses y la crispación como herramienta para llegar al poder.

A teacher is accused of indoctrination after choosing a supposedly controversial song for the Spring Festival held every year at her school. What at first might seem like a passing issue gradually turns into a full-blown earthquake that shakes every member of the educational community. To what extent can the demands of a minority come to condition the decisions of an entire school? Primavera de bèsties is a social drama inspired by real events that lays bare ideological manipulation, conflicts of interest, and the use of polarisation as a tool for gaining power.

La obra aborda una temática muy actual: ¿existe el adoctrinamiento escolar? ¿qué sucede en un centro escolar cuando una minoría quiere imponer su criterio? ¿cómo actuamos en una situación de polarización? ¿cómo viven el entorno hostil los más pequeños?. La obra apela a todos los públicos, más aún si cabe a los docentes y a las personas responsables de los más pequeños.

The play addresses a highly topical issue: does indoctrination exist in schools? What happens within a school when a minority seeks to impose its views? How do we act in situations of polarisation? And how do the youngest experience a hostile environment? The play speaks to all audiences, and especially to educators and those responsible for the care and upbringing of children.

Biografía. / Biography.

«Me crié en un pueblo de Mallorca haciendo teatro amateur por toda la isla, con sillas blancas, niños tirando petardos de fondo y mucho humor. Soy hijo de un teatro popular que atrae a todos los públicos y creo que hay algo de mi teatro que sigue con esa filosofía de querer pasármelo bien. Gané una beca con 20 años para estudiar en el Obrador de la Sala Beckett con Sergi Belbel, y desde entonces no he parado de escribir. En el 2019, cuando acabé Publicidad y Relaciones Públicas, me fui a estudiar al Institut del Teatre Dramatúrgia y Dirección, y desde entonces estoy especializándome en adaptación de clásicos y apostar por un teatro popular, crítico y que acerque a las nuevas generaciones a las plateas. Desde el 2022 tengo la suerte de ser el Director Residente del Teatre Tantarantana donde he podido estrenar y provar mis textos y mis gusanitos teatrales.» (Miquel Mas Fiol).

«I grew up in a village in Mallorca doing amateur theatre all over the island, with white plastic chairs, children setting off firecrackers in the background, and a great deal of humour. I am the product of a popular form of theatre that attracts all kinds of audiences, and I believe there is something in my own work that still follows that philosophy of wanting to enjoy myself. At the age of 20, I won a grant to study at the Obrador of Sala Beckett with Sergi Belbel, and since then I have never stopped writing. In 2019, after completing a degree in Advertising and Public Relations, I went on to study Playwriting and Directing at the Institut del Teatre, and since then I have been specialising in adaptations of classics and in advocating for a popular, critical form of theatre that brings new generations into the auditorium. Since 2022, I have been fortunate to serve as Resident Director at Teatre Tantarantana, where I have been able to premiere and experiment with my texts and theatrical ideas.» (Miquel Mas Fiol).

Escritura. / Style.

«Mi escritura siempre ha estado ligada a la comedia ácida ya la denuncia de la hipocresía social. Estudiando Publicidad, me di cuenta de un concepto fascinante: el "insight comunicativo". Un insight son todos aquellos pensamientos, a golpes ocultos, que todos hemos pensado y que nos da miedo expresar en público. Son deseos compartidos que no queremos verbalizar y tapamos con la máscara social. Mi teatro gira en torno a desvelar estos insights y sacar las caretas sociales a golpes de humor.» (Miquel Mas Fiol).

«My writing has always been linked to acidic comedy and to exposing social hypocrisy. While studying Advertising, I discovered a fascinating concept: the ‘communication insight’. An insight consists of those hidden, half-suppressed thoughts that we have all had at some point and are afraid to express in public. They are shared desires we do not want to verbalise and instead conceal behind a social mask. My theatre revolves around revealing these insights and stripping away social façades through humour.» (Miquel Mas Fiol).
