Biografía. / Biography.

Sebastián Moreno nace en Palma de Mallorca en 1985. Allí vive su infancia y juventud. Descubre y recorre kilómetros de costa lamidos por el mar. Estudia pedagogía y se enamora del teatro en todas sus variantes. Su bautismo teatral sucede a la luz del grupo de teatro `Xicarandana` y de Joan Lacomba. Corre entre las olas de esa isla, la primavera de 1999. Esos años bucea entre las palabras de J.M. Benet i Jornet, Albert Camus, Samuel Beckett, Michel Azama, Peter Handke... Desde entonces combinará las facetas de actor, autor y director, explorando diferentes lenguajes. Se afinca en Madrid en 2007, y sigue formándose como dramaturgo. Entonces, como una revelación, seguirá los pasos (y las voces) de La Zaranda, Angélica Liddell, Juan Mayorga, Sarah Kane... Es desde 2015, autor y director junto a Raquel Calonge y David Utrilla, de la compañía `La Casquería`, con quienes ha escrito, estrenado y editado varios títulos. En 2020, gana el Premio Internacional de Dramaturgia Invasora, y el Accésit de Teatro al Certamen Literario Calamonte Joven. Le gusta pensar que su escritura es rémora de otras voces silenciadas, canto de sirena, temblor marino, surco en la orilla: tal vez, otra manera de desaprender el mundo.

Sebastián Moreno was born in Palma de Mallorca in 1985. There, he spent his childhood and youth, discovering and roaming along kilometers of coastline licked by the sea. He studied pedagogy and fell in love with theatre in all its forms. His theatrical baptism came under the light of the Xicarandana theatre group and Joan Lacomba, running between the waves of the island in the spring of 1999. During those years, he dove deep into the words of J.M. Benet i Jornet, Albert Camus, Samuel Beckett, Michel Azama, Peter Handke... Since then, he has combined the roles of actor, writer, and director, exploring different languages of expression. In 2007, he settled in Madrid, continuing his formation as a playwright. It was there, like a revelation, that he followed the footsteps (and voices) of La Zaranda, Angélica Liddell, Juan Mayorga, Sarah Kane... Since 2015, he has been a writer and director alongside Raquel Calonge and David Utrilla in the company La Casquería, with whom he has written, premiered, and published several works. In 2020, he won the Invasora International Playwriting Award and received an Honorable Mention at the Calamonte Joven Literary Competition. He likes to think of his writing as a remnant of other silenced voices, a siren song, a marine tremor, a furrow in the shore: perhaps, another way of unlearning the world.

«Escribo (una forma de mirar especial y única) para lanzar preguntas para las que no tengo respuesta, a tientas en la oscuridad. Para gritar hasta enmudecer y desangrarse en la belleza hiriente de la imagen. Para hacerlo incluso en minúsculas. Para encontrar los colores perdidos en la negrura de las noches. Para colocar un espejo turbio al lado de la polis. Para dar voz y memoria a quienes la perdieron. Para no perder la propia voz. Para no perder. Para no ganar. Para ser eco, balbuceo, llanto... Para ser altavoz. Para abrazar el enigma. Para desaprender y poetizar el mundo. Cuando se condensa un pedazo de carbón, surgen diamantes.» (Sebastián Moreno).
