Sinopsis. / Synopsis.

Sebastián, un introvertido novelista en pleno colapso creativo y vital, se ve obligado a regresar al hogar familiar que abandonó hace veinte años. Este reencuentro reabre unas heridas que permanecían silenciadas. Esta es la historia de un hombre que dejó de ser niño demasiado pronto, para el que su mayor éxito es seguir vivo. Sebastián ha resistido y necesita hablar. Tiene derecho a volver a empezar. Y esta vez no lo hará solo.

Sebastián, an introverted novelist in the midst of a creative and personal breakdown, is forced to return to the family home he left twenty years ago. This reunion reopens wounds that had long remained unspoken. This is the story of a man who stopped being a child far too soon, for whom survival itself is his greatest success. Sebastián has endured, and he needs to speak. He has the right to start over—and this time, he won’t do it alone.

Biografía. / Biography.

Gabriel Fuentes es director de escena, dramaturgo y guionista. Nace en Málaga, pero crece en Barcelona. Se forma como actor en diversas escuelas de Arte Dramático. Más tarde se gradúa en Dirección de escena y Dramaturgia por la Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Madrid (RESAD). Se especializa en audiovisual con el Master de Guion de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid/TMS. Amplía su formación teatral con Lukas Bärfuss, Mark Ravenhill, Florian Borchmeyer, Guillermo Heras, Marta Pazos y Alejandro Tantanian, entre otros. Ha obtenido el Premio de Teatro Calderón de la Barca (2022), el II Premio en el Certamen de Nuevas Dramaturgias LANAU escénica (2015) y el Premio Teatro Exprés de la Asociación de Autoras y Autores de Teatro (2015), entre otros. Ha sido ayudante de dirección para Miguel del Arco, Guillem Clua y Jana Pacheco en el Centro Dramático Nacional, El Pavón Teatro Kamikaze y el Teatro Español.

Gabriel Fuentes is a stage director, playwright, and screenwriter. He was born in Málaga but grew up in Barcelona. He trained as an actor at various drama schools and later graduated in Stage Direction and Playwriting from the Royal Higher School of Dramatic Arts in Madrid (RESAD). He specialized in audiovisual arts with a Screenwriting Master's degree from the Complutense University of Madrid/TMS. He expanded his theatrical training with renowned figures such as Lukas Bärfuss, Mark Ravenhill, Florian Borchmeyer, Guillermo Heras, Marta Pazos, and Alejandro Tantanian, among others. His awards include the Calderón de la Barca Theatre Prize (2022), the Second Prize at the LANAU Scenical New Playwriting Competition (2015), and the Teatro Exprés Award from the Association of Theatre Authors (2015), among others. He has also served as an assistant director for Miguel del Arco, Guillem Clua, and Jana Pacheco at the National Drama Center, El Pavón Teatro Kamikaze, and Teatro Español.

Escritura. / Style.

«Escribo sobre lo que me duele, sobre lo que no tengo respuesta, sobre lo que odio. Mi escritura necesita silencio, palabra, imagen y acción. Cada pieza es un intento de encontrar la propia voz. Me busco en Kristof, en Lagarce, en Camus, en Kane, en Chéjov… y en un largo etcétera. Me inspira el trabajo de mis maestros, Itziar Pascual y Miguel del Arco. Y el de los actores y actrices, a los que tanto admiro, por su perseverancia y generosidad. Sin ellos, para mí, no habría teatro.» (Gabriel Fuentes).

«I write about what hurts me, about what I have no response to, about what I hate. My writing requires silence, words, images and action. Each piece is an attempt to find my own voice. I try and find myself in the work of Kristof, Lagarce, Camus, Kane and Chekhov, among many others. I’m inspired by the work of my teachers, Itziar Pascual and Miguel del Arco.
